Book Sale to Celebrate My Upcoming Release

Hello all!

In one week, FOR BETTER OR FOR WOLF will release. I can’t wait for you all to read Connor’s story. Connor is one of the werewolf twins and he is such a fun character, I think you will really enjoy him. And Olivia is such a great foil for him!

With 7 days until the release, I thought we would celebrate this week with some teasers and a book sale! Look out for the teasers later this week, but the book sale is running now. TO HAVE AND TO HOWL, book three in my wedding planners series is on sale for a limited time at 99 cents.

HOWL is the story of second love. I have a special place in my heart for this couple. It features Jack who is Connor’s twin. So even though the books in this series are all standalone, it’s fun to read the other twin’s story as well.

Check it out below…

Law means following the rules. Love means breaking them.

Julia Cole is a lawyer on a mission. After three long years, her husband’s murderers have been convicted. Until their leader breaks out of magically-strengthened, impossible-to-break-handcuffs in the courtroom, that is. Someone is helping them. And that someone is threatening Julia. But she will not back down from them or the man tasked to protect her…a man who scrambles her long-buried emotions.

Jack Dawson is a werewolf with a secret. One that could change his life forever. But his problems have to take a back seat while he protects Julia. He can’t afford to let down his guard—against the evil forces threatening Julia, against his growing feelings for her, fighting to be heard, and against his secret—which could destroy everything.

Can Julia and Jack finally let go of their pasts and begin a new happy ever after together?

Binge-worthy Entertainment

Growing up, I was a TV junkie. Name it and I watched it. One of my favorite magazines was the TV Guide Season Preview Guide. I loved reading about the new shows coming, and I would highlight the guide and plan out what I would watch.

Now, with my job and my writing, I have very little time to watch TV anymore. A little sad, but I have a new addiction – writing stories.

There are a couple exceptions to my no-TV-watching life. One of those exceptions is the show Supernatural. You’re probably not surprised about that, right 🙂

Well, over the Labor Day weekend, I was sick. So other than editing (which had to get done) I started to watch season 12. I had the entire season recorded on my DVR. And I binged most of the shows, leaving a small number that I have been watching this past week.

And I’m reminded why I love TV and why that has evolved into my writing career. When it comes down to it, a good story is a good story. Yes, Supernatural has demons, and vamps, and angels, and anything else you can think of. But what makes the show amazing is that it is ultimately about sacrifice, and love, and family. Oh and of course the two scrumptious brothers don’t hurt the show either. And they get to dust really EVIL things. That plays into Good vs Evil, David vs Goliath…

How can you not WANT to watch that? or read that?

So as I watch the last show of season 12, I have to remember that good story-telling is about letting the reader or watcher empathize with the characters. Because coming along for the ride and escaping into a new world is the best!

And before I sign off, I want to let everyone in Hurricane Irma’s path know I am thinking and praying for you.

Who is my Audience?

grandstand-330930_640Lately, I’ve been spending time thinking about my readers. As a writer, that is something I should do more often than not, because as I write my stories, I have to like what I create for myself, but I also need to write something that I hope my readers like as well. If I don’t, no one will read my stories and that is a writer’s biggest fear. Or it’s my fear, anyway.

When I look at my novels, I think about what comes into play and ultimately what my audience likes to read. My stories have humor, mystery, romance, and sarcasm, mashed together in a supernatural blender.

But ultimately the books circle around a recurring theme. My characters are on a search for self. Their journey includes various challenges, but the crux is about gaining confidence in yourself in order to trust the people. Without trust there is no chance for relationships or love.

Which means my audience likes funny, angsty, challenging mysteries with heart and growth. You guys are pretty sophisticated!!

So there is a little bit of everything in my stories. If you’re a current reader, thank you for your amazing support. If you’re new to my books and are considering joining audience AE then I just want to say…

Welcome and enjoy the show!

Forget Me

prequel-ver-2-2Find out where it all began…

Nineteen-year-old Kyle McKinley is having a really bad day. She gets caught stealing, her boyfriend abandons her, and—oh yeah—apparently, vampires, demons, and other beasties actually exist.

What’s a girl to do?

Accept a job offer with a paranormal shadow-type agency…

This is the story of how Kyle’s world is turned upside down and she meets her teammates, vampire Jean Luc and demon Misha, for the first time. And as usual, there’s a mystery with a paranormal twist to solve, and Kyle learns about herself in the process.

Trust Metrust-me-rev2

It’s been a year since Kyle McKinley realized that paranormals do, indeed, exist. A year of working with an overprotective vampire and demon. A year of actually using her ability to manipulate memories to help the good guys.

The team’s newest case revolves around supernatural extortionists. When local businesses are forced to pay protection money, Kyle convinces her teammates to let her go undercover for the first time to stop the culprits.

Will Jean Luc and Misha trust her to get the job done? And does she trust her own abilities enough to stop the threats of violence before they become a reality?

Protect Me

protectmerev2Kyle McKinley is turning twenty-one. She should be celebrating with cake and her first legal drink, but instead she must face down a deranged demon.

When the demon collapses, Doctor Sabrina Miller is called in to help the team. Kyle is not too happy with the new addition, especially since Sabrina is perfect: smart, ridiculously beautiful, and an actual life saver. How is she supposed to compete with that?

Plus, the confrontation with the demon has left Kyle’s confidence in shambles. Can she accept Sabrina as part of the team and let go of her fears in order to stop drug dealers threatening the demon population?

Just another day’s work at the Bureau of Supernatural Relations…

Romeo & Juliet with a Paranormal Twist

Instead of a teaser today, I am sharing a link to an article I wrote for Heroes & Heartbreakers about Romeo and Juliet. Of course my Romeo and Juliet are of the paranormal variety. My new release centers around a hero and heroine who are supposed to hate each other, but somehow that doesn’t happen. Romance ensues…

Paranormal Diet & Exercise Tip #1

In my new novel releasing on October 31st, the heroine works as the health director for stressed out paranormal brides. Which makes me chuckle every time I think about it. I thought it would be fun, instead of paranormal wedding tips, to share diet and exercise tips in preparation for my release!

The paranormal twists to this theme could be endless…but I controlled myself this time and created five tips to share. So this week, you can have some fun with me. Check out the first tip in the 30 second video below or by clicking HERE.

Let the fun begin!

The Fledgling Release Day!

Hello and welcome to release day for the Fledgling! Can you believe that when we started this self-pub journey in January we would be here already, releasing book TWO of the Mind Sweeper Series? So what am I doing today? Well, I am actually going to work. Yes, you read that correctly. I am heading to my day job. But I am celebrating my release with enthusiasm! If you remember for my last release, I wore a tiara and carried a wand around (check out my Mind Sweeper Release Day blog if you don’t believe me).

20141012_150532[1]Today, the tiara is back out and will be worn as I drive to work. As evidence, I have attached a picture of said tiara, said author, and said car. See…I am not making this up! I did decide to leave the wand at home however, since holding it while driving is hazardous to my health and those around me! And of course attempting to work at my computer while holding the wand would be problematic as well.

But even if I did decide to wear my tiara all day long, I don’t think anyone at work would mind. I don’t know if that says more about the acceptance of my co-workers or the fact that they expect a little ‘crazy’ out of me 🙂

Maybe a little of both, right?

So join me in celebrating my release. Hold up a glass of virtual champagne and toast with me. Another dream has come true for me today. Tiara or no tiara, that makes me feel like a princess…and a rock star… and a very happy and lucky person who has the support of friends, family and you, my followers!

Enjoy today, I know I will!

And if for some reason, you haven’t seen what my series is all about, click HERE to find out more about Mind Sweeper and The Fledgling.
