In one week, FOR BETTER OR FOR WOLF will release. I can’t wait for you all to read Connor’s story. Connor is one of the werewolf twins and he is such a fun character, I think you will really enjoy him. And Olivia is such a great foil for him!
With 7 days until the release, I thought we would celebrate this week with some teasers and a book sale! Look out for the teasers later this week, but the book sale is running now. TO HAVE AND TO HOWL, book three in my wedding planners series is on sale for a limited time at 99 cents.
HOWL is the story of second love. I have a special place in my heart for this couple. It features Jack who is Connor’s twin. So even though the books in this series are all standalone, it’s fun to read the other twin’s story as well.
Check it out below…
TO HAVE AND TO HOWL – 99 Cents for a Limited Time!
Law means following the rules. Love means breaking them.
Julia Cole is a lawyer on a mission. After three long years, her husband’s murderers have been convicted. Until their leader breaks out of magically-strengthened, impossible-to-break-handcuffs in the courtroom, that is. Someone is helping them. And that someone is threatening Julia. But she will not back down from them or the man tasked to protect her…a man who scrambles her long-buried emotions.
Jack Dawson is a werewolf with a secret. One that could change his life forever. But his problems have to take a back seat while he protects Julia. He can’t afford to let down his guard—against the evil forces threatening Julia, against his growing feelings for her, fighting to be heard, and against his secret—which could destroy everything.
Can Julia and Jack finally let go of their pasts and begin a new happy ever after together?
It’s hard to believe that FOR BETTER OR FOR WOLF will be out in five weeks! I shared the cover and blurb with you a couple weeks ago, and I thought you might want to actually get a sneak peek of it by reading an excerpt. So, check it out below…
“Relationship” is not a four-letter word.
Connor Dawson’s wolf wanted out—bad. But the hairy dude would just have to wait a bit. Lately his animal side had been getting more and more riled up, and nothing seemed to appease him. But then Connor wouldn’t exactly say he had been feeling very appeased lately, either.
It didn’t help that the sun would soon be setting and tonight was a full moon. Unlike the stereotype, werewolves didn’t turn into uncontrollable beasts under the full moon. But the moon did call to his inner Fido rather loudly. And since Connor had a case, Fido needed to chill.
Connor was part of an unofficial law enforcement team tasked with ensuring paranormals didn’t kill each other or, at the very least, didn’t clue humans in to the fact they exist. And while humans thought vamps and werewolves were cool in the Hollywood sense, in reality there were a lot more to keep quiet about—elves, faeries, nymphs, witches, gargantuans, vampires, gargoyles, shifters, scores of demons—the list went on.
Right now, he stood outside a typical house in the San Diego burbs. On the inside, however, typical was not on the agenda. A philandering husband and a pissed-off witch wife made for a volatile combination.
The wife had been turned over to her coven for punishment and the husband to a healer for…well, healing. Now they were left with the cleanup.
Connor opened the door to the team van as his teammate Giz walked out of the house with a box. Smoke wafted lightly from the top. Which made Connor a little twitchy. But Giz insisted he had muted the spell used on the toaster. Since Giz was a techno-guru and a powerful warlock, Connor would take his word for it.
Sparks shot up from the top. On second thought…
“Are you sure you shut down the nastiness?”
“Yes. It won’t hurt you. The spell was designed specifically to attack the husband. You definitely don’t want to cheat on a witch.”
“Female shifters aren’t too keen on adultery either,” Connor said. And he couldn’t blame them. He might like to play the field a bit, but he didn’t get involved with married women. Even he had a conscience.
Giz stashed the box in the van.
Connor shut the door. “This is why I won’t be getting married.”
“You won’t be getting married because no woman would have you.”
Connor bristled. “What the hell does that mean?”
“Except for a few supernatural species, most marriages are based on monogamy. Do you need me to define it for you?”
He knew the definition of monogamy. He just never got into a situation where he had to practice it. Relationships were not his modus operandi.
“Very funny. Don’t tell me you’ve been drinking the happily-ever-after Kool-Aid.”
Giz grinned. “It’s hard not to thanks to all our teammates catching the lovebug.”
Lovebug, hell. It was more like love fungus or bacteria, or black mold. Connor and Giz were the only two of their five-man team who hadn’t succumbed. Which was more than fine with him.
Love made his brother and his friends more than a little stupid. And, Connor reluctantly had to admit, a lot happy. But he couldn’t imagine how he would ever find that kind of happiness—not that he was looking. He hoped for their sakes their happiness would last, but he’d never seen love work out over the long haul.
Of course he and Giz were handling this case while his teammates were spending time with their significant others. And after Connor and Giz wrote up their notes to send to the supernatural Tribunal and disposed of the magically toxic toaster, they would go back to the house, where they lived like a couple of overgrown frat boys, and stare at each other over pizza and beer. Which didn’t sound very appealing.
Nope, on second thought, he needed to go out and find a little no-strings companionship.
But then he wasn’t one to keep score.
….So. What do you think? I think Connor is going to be a tough nut to crack in the relationship department, don’t you?
Preparation, preparation, preparation, that is my motto right now. Why, you ask? Because I’m working on releasing two new books this fall. And with those releases come a lot of moving parts.
In September, I will be releasing FOR BETTER OR FOR WOLF, book 4 in my paranormal wedding planner series, followed in October with book 5, FOR WITCH OR FOR POORER.
Very soon, I will be sharing covers, blurbs, excerpts, trailers, teasers…you name it, and it will be coming your way. And of course, I also have to finish edits and all the other things that need to be done to send my new babies out into the world.
I really enjoyed writing both books and the two main couples were fun to write in their own way. It’s amazing to me how they all become so distinct in my head as I bring them to life on my computer screen 🙂
So stay tuned! I hope you plan to come along for the ride. It should be a wild one!
Spring is finally, FINALLY in the air where I live. And I want to celebrate. How does an author celebrate sunshine, green grass, and flowers?
With a book sale, of course!
And what better book to put on sale than FROM THIS FAE FORWARD. I mean, look at the cover below – it screams spring!
For the next week, you can get this book for 99 cents. If you haven’t spent any time in my paranormal wedding planner world, you’re in for a treat. Charlie, the hero of this book is a sexy, southern sea nymph who thinks he can sweet talk his way through anything and anybody. Until he meets woodland nymph, Sheila that is.
Sparks fly, sexy-banter ensues, and a mystery is solved along the way. Check it out!
What if Romeo and Juliet were paranormal…
Exiled from her woodland nymph clan, Sheila Hampton works as an exercise instructor for stressed-out paranormal brides—until her father tries to force her to marry as part of a political power play. Her unlikely hero/fake fiancé? A sexy-as-sin sea nymph from a rival clan. She should hate him, she really should…
Charlie Tucker has protected people in the past. It’s just a job—until it’s not. Not when it comes to a beautiful and headstrong woodland nymph. Now he’s posing as Sheila’s loving fiancé and planning the biggest fake nymph wedding of the century with her. He should hate her, he really should…
But when Sheila’s life is threatened, can this paranormal Romeo and Juliet find a way to change their tragic ending to a happy ever after?
It’s release day, it’s release day! DEMONS ARE A GIRL’S BEST FRIEND is available for your reading pleasure.
I am so happy to celebrate with you and Aleksei today. And of course, Misha plays a part as well in the story (as does Kyle – she wouldn’t have it any other way). Plus we finally get to meet baby brother, Sergei too. Which makes sense after all since in less than a month, his book will be coming out as well!
But enough about Sergei. This is Aleksei’s day and he is expecting me to spread the word. He tried to give me a project plan for release day, but I told him I had it under control! I did agree to color-coordinate my outfit with his amazing cover. There needs to be compromise in a relationship, right?
As usual, here is my release day tiara pic.
Aleskei is looking quite dapper if I do say so myself. See that little smirk on his face? He’s obviously up to something, but then, when isn’t Aleksei up to something?
Thanks for joining the celebration today, we appreciate it!
It’s been a week since Misha has been out in the world and he is so happy to be spending time with you all! And even though he would like to continue to be the center of attention, in three short weeks, his brother Aleksei will also be joining the celebration as well.
DEMONS ARE A GIRL’S BEST FRIEND will release on October 15th! Which means Aleksei wants to share a bit of his story with you. Not to be outdone by his older brother, he has a video as well. Check out the thirty second sneak peek of Aleksei’s story below, or by clicking HERE.
And the fun part of Aleksei’s story? You may recognize a couple of the scenes from Misha’s story, but this time it’s through Aleksei’s viewpoint. It was a blast to write and I hope it will be a blast to read!
Misha is ready and Aleksei will be here soon. The fun has only JUST begun!
Spring is coming in a few short weeks and I am so very excited. We had a LONG winter where I live, and the idea of flowers, green grass, and sunshine pushes away the winter blahs.
There is something invigorating about spring. It’s a fresh awakening. As a writer, that holds a special appeal. For me, there are several “spring-like” steps to my writing process.
Writing lets me delve into new worlds, new plots, new characters, new mysteries, new romances…something that I haven’t experienced or written before.
Right now I’m reading through my manuscript before I send it to my editor for detailed edits, and I realized that as I make tweaks to scenes, I am planting seeds. Making it the best it can be, before my editor gets a hold of it and REALLY cleans it up – I guess you could say she’ll be doing a spring cleaning on it 🙂 (sorry couldn’t help myself with that one).
But I’m happy that sunshine is finally making its way into my little corner of the world. And if I’m lucky, I hope it continues to shine in my work as well.
Join the continuing celebration! More fun with paranormal law! Take 2…
Hello my friends! As promised, I will be posting each day this week to celebrate TO HAVE AND TO HOWL releasing next Monday the 13th!
Here is the first video teaser! Since Julia is a lawyer, I thought it would be fun to discuss what it means to practice paranormal law 🙂
There will be 5 in all and a couple graphic teasers later this week as well.
So spend 30 seconds and have some fun!
